Privacy Policy

Last updated May 15, 2026 · Effective immediately

Short version

You're not the product. Our revenue is your subscription — not your data. We collect minimal, anonymous, aggregate information so we can make TapThrough better, and that's it. We never sell your data, share it with advertisers, or integrate ad-tech SDKs from Google, Meta, or any ad network.

The rest of this policy covers exactly what we do collect (small), what we never will (specific list), and how Apple's App Store handles your purchases.

1. Who we are

TapThrough is operated by Jedrock LLC, a California limited liability company.

Contact: support@tapthrough.app.

For the purposes of GDPR, Jedrock LLC is the data controller for any information described in this policy. For the purposes of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Jedrock LLC is the business.

2. What we collect

TapThrough collects the minimum needed to operate the app, charge for it, and make it better — nothing more. As of the “Last updated” date above, that means:

2.1 Aggregate App Store analytics (Apple-provided, no individual IDs)

Apple's App Store Connect gives us aggregate, anonymized metrics for any app distributed through the App Store: install counts, country breakdowns, revenue totals, crash counts, and impression / conversion rates on our App Store listing. We cannot tie any of this back to individual users. We do not have a way to ask Apple to stop providing these metrics.

2.2 iOS system-level crash and analytics opt-in

If you have turned on “Share with App Developers” in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, iOS may send Apple anonymized crash logs and aggregate usage metrics for apps including TapThrough. Apple aggregates and anonymizes this data before we see it. We never see crash reports tied to an individual user. You can turn this off at any time in iOS Settings.

2.3 StoreKit purchase receipts

When you buy a subscription or pack, StoreKit delivers an anonymous receipt to the app so we can unlock the content you paid for. The receipt does not contain your name, email, payment information, billing address, or device identifier — those stay with Apple.

2.4 Privacy-respecting product analytics (planned, not yet shipped)

We anticipate adding a privacy-respecting product-analytics service in a future release — a service like Aptabase or TelemetryDeck that lets us see anonymous, aggregate event counts (which walkthroughs are opened most, where in the app people drop off) without cookies, without personal identifiers, and without cross-app or cross-site tracking. When we ship this:

3. What we never do (and never will)

These commitments are durable, not aspirational. They define the business model.

4. Information that stays on your device

The following lives on your iPhone only, in the app's local sandbox, and is never transmitted to us:

If you delete the app, all of this is removed with it.

5. Apple App Store — what Apple sees that we don't

When you buy a subscription or topic pack inside TapThrough, the purchase is processed by Apple through Apple's App Store and StoreKit framework. Apple handles your payment, stores your purchase history, and manages renewals and refunds under Apple's own privacy and terms.

What Apple does not share with us: your Apple ID, your name, your email, your payment information, your billing address, your IP address, or your device identifier. We only ever receive the anonymous receipt described in §2.3 and the aggregate analytics described in §2.1.

6. This website

This website (tapthrough.app) is a set of static HTML pages hosted on Cloudflare. We do not set tracking cookies, run analytics, or embed third-party scripts. Cloudflare, as our hosting and DNS provider, may collect standard server-log information (IP address, request timestamp, user agent) for security and operational purposes under Cloudflare's own privacy policy. We do not access, store, or analyze these logs.

7. Email correspondence

If you email us at support@tapthrough.app, we will see your email address and the contents of your message. We use this information only to reply to you and to track the issue you raised. We keep support correspondence for as long as needed to resolve the issue and for a reasonable period afterward (typically up to two years) so we can recognize repeat issues. We do not add you to a marketing list, and we do not have one.

8. Children's privacy

TapThrough is not directed to children under 13. Our “Kids' iPhone” topic pack is designed for parents setting up an iPhone for their child, not for use by the child. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information (e.g., by emailing us), please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your rights

Because the data we collect about you is anonymous and aggregate (§2), there is no profile tied to your identity for us to show you, export, or delete. The data-subject rights under GDPR and CCPA — access, deletion, portability — have nothing to act on at the individual level.

You still have the right to:

We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA. We do not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising.

10. International users

TapThrough is operated from the United States. If you use the app or this website from outside the United States, the limited information that is processed (App Store receipts via Apple, server logs via Cloudflare) may cross international borders. Apple and Cloudflare maintain their own safeguards for international data transfers.

11. Security

The app does not transmit personal data to our infrastructure, so there is no personal data on our servers to secure. Communication with the App Store is handled by Apple's StoreKit framework over Apple's secure channels.

12. Changes to this policy

If we materially change this policy — for example, if we ever begin collecting any personal data — we will update the “Last updated” date at the top, prominently note the change on this page, and, where required by law, provide notice in the app before the change takes effect. Continued use of the app after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
